Demonstration Against Police Terror in Berlin

In light of the latest incident of police repression against a comrade, we had to ask ourselves “is this simply racism or hunting down leftists”? Therefore, we decided to take matters into our own hands and protest in front of the police station against this repression – which affects us all.
Unfortunately, we are not talking about an individual case here, but about a systematic approach of the police, which is used especially often and intensively in so-called “crime-ridden places”. In these places, which are defined on the basis of the General Security and Order Law in Berlin, it is possible to control everyone who is there without any reason. Above all, these are racist police checks that are carried out in places like Hermannplatz in Neukölln or in the area of Görlitzer Park in Kreuzberg. There are many other places in Berlin where the population is exposed to this daily police terror, also the controls are often associated with violence. In Rigaer Straße in Friedrichshain, this repressive measure is directed primarily against the radical left-wing neighborhood and its sympathizers.
Last week, a comrade of ours was once again “accidentally” stopped and controlled by the police on the open street. He was then taken to the police station in Rollbergstraße in Neukölln. Without justification, without initial suspicion or the like, he was held there for several hours without shoes and socks and harassed. The handing over of a protocol about confiscated objects was refused to him under further threats.
We say enough! Let’s put an end to police terror – let’s defend ourselves together against racist police controls and state repression against revolutionaries and left-wing public! Therefore we meet for the protest in front of the police station in Rollbergstraße to show – we will not be intimidated by these measures and we will not leave our comrade alone.
